BABA, David - Of Grand Blanc, age 83, went home to be with the Lord and his mother and father on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Tom Mattiuzzo officiating. In Sunset Hills Cemetery with a military service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Riverside Tabernacle Memorial Fund. Visitation 5-8PM Tuesday and 12Noon Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. David was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 25, 1923, the son of the late George and Maria Baba. On September 11, 1948 David married Lillian Joseph in Chicago, Illinois. He served his country in the United States Army in World War II in the European Theater, Battle of the Bulge. David loved spending time with his family, gardening, and wood working in his shop and had a great sense of humor. Surviving are wife, Lillian; children, Dr. Marietta L. Baba, Rochelle M. and husband Howard Thompson, Crystal A. Baba, Jonathan D. and wife Brenda Baba, Annette M. and husband Jonathan Burman; grandchildren, Matthew (Stacy), Alexia, Michael (Melissa), Truston (Rachel), Phillip, Nicholas, Angela (David), Alex, and Alisha; great-grandchildren, Nora and Henry; sisters, Christine Baba, Louise (Bud) Odren, Mary Ann (Bob) McGarry; many nieces and nephews.
