Dave was diagnosed with Stage IV Non-small cell lung cancer in April 2011. He fought a good battle, and wanted to contribute to the studies and research in fighting this terrible disease. Special thanks to Huntsman Cancer Hospital for ALL of their encouragement and support, and especially for helping make Dave feel as comfortable as possible.
Dave LOVED the ocean. He enjoyed fishing, boating, music, woodworking, cooking and model tanks. He also loved playing cards. Dave was captain of his high school swim team at Park Center High School and led them to the state championship. He graduated from University of Minn. and also studied at Dale Carnegie Institute. For 25 years Dave specialized in commercial insulation, and fireproofing constructions. His contributions were in Las Vegas, but mainly numerous buildings in the Minneapolis area including the Carlson Towers in Minnetonka. He always said "I would never build a building that wasn't the safest as it could be for my own children". His ashes were scattered in the Gulf of Mexico off the Galveston coast on Wednesday, April 25th at 7:40pm local time.
