BAINBRIDGE, David W. - Of Grand Blanc, age 70, died Monday, December 19, 2005 at Genesys Regional Medical Center, after a 13 year battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held at 11AM, Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Roy Horning and Pastor Bruce Billing co-officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cancer Research Center at University of Michigan, in care of Dr. David Smith. Visitation 12-8PM Tuesday and Wednesday and 10-11AM Thursday at the funeral home. David was born in Flint, Michigan on January 24, 1935, the son of the late John and Violet (McMillen) Bainbridge and was a resident of the Flint area all of his life. He married Evelyn Carufel on July 3, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. David worked for General Motors for 35 years and retired as a Mechanical Engineer. He was a member of Phoenix Methodist Church, Grand Blanc Lodge #571 F&A.M. and was an avid golfer. He liked baseball and he enjoyed his grandchildren. Surviving are wife Evelyn; children, David W. II and wife Elaine of Grand Blanc and sons, David W. III and Scott, Pam Bainbridge and her children, Staci and Kellie Maddock, Kevin and wife Patty and children, Joshua and Meghan of Daytona Beach, FL, Michael and wife Amy and children, Allison and Jacob of Arlington, TN, Matthew and wife Tracie and children Lawson and Olivia of Grand Blanc; many nieces and nephews; best friend Tiney. He was preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
