A Remembrance

I sort my e-mail into folders that include, work, family and friends. The friends folder has the fewest messages in it. When David died I lost a friend. One of his attributes was the ability to make and retain friends.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. David meant so much to so many people. He was truly and amazing person and many of my favorite memories from SIUC include David. He will be greatly missed.

I can still picture David the last evening in the Okeefenokee Wildlife refuge. It had just rained the evening before. The orchestra of bullfrogs, cicadas and the roar of gators was deafening. With a grin from ear to ear, David asked if I had ever heard anthing like this before - I too, had a grin from ear to ear - my only reply was "nope!" The four of us laughed and soaked it all in! You are missed David! Thank you for the friendship and adventures. Keep the wind to your back!

David played his part in sparking my interest in the great outdoors. I have always remembered a family trip to Hayes Creek Canyon's natural water slide. He'll be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was such a great person. When I think back on my time at SIU I always think of the time Katie, Pnut and I spent with you and Dave. Thank you for always been so kind. I don't know many people who would invite those crazy Bowyer girls into their home. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
