David F. Barrett of Burlington, formerly of Reading died November 20, 2021.
He was the devoted father of Cynthia M. Barrett and loving grandfather of Evelyn Murphy both of Burlington. Loving son of the late Evelyn (Flynn) and Daniel F. Barrett of Reading. Cherished brother of Judith Carlson of Reading, Patricia O’Brien and her husband Michael of Watertown and the late Peter Barrett. He is survived by his longtime companion Jean Thurston of N. Billerica, his nephew, Patrick O’Brien of Watertown and also many cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3 at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11-12.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

David (Dave to us) was a long time member of Moving On, a social club based in Lexington, MA. Many of us old timers remember his sharp wit and hilarious take on everyday life. He drifted away over the years and may not have been active for close to a decade, but we still remember him as a charming addition to our social group.
