Not sure what to say?

Dave was my Sophmore at roommate @ UMass. I was always impressed at how well he balanced Academics and Athletics. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Dave was a true Holyoker, who touched many lives & helped those he could. A fine gentleman who will be missed.

I write to express my condolences to Mrs. Bette Bartley and her family. I am grateful to have served as the director of alumni relations while Dr. Bartley was the president at HCC. His landmark legislation that guaranteed the best educational services to persons with disabilities was further strengthened by the superb staff of the Office for Students with Disabilities at HCC, considered to be the best OSD office of any community college in MA. Dr. Bartley was the only community...

We remember Mr. Bartley with fondness and great respect. Dan and Judie Oberholtzer / Music Department Faculty at HCC from 1973 - 2000.

My deepest sympathies to Mr. Bartley's family and friends at this difficult time. He was a true leader from his hometown of Holyoke, and his greatest legacy is the BEST community college in Massachusetts! Holyoke Community College continues to provide opportunities for so many! Thank you for your service to our small community of Holyoke, but also to our Commonwealth. Thank you for your years of service to helping others, Mr. Bartley. May you rest in peace.

David was a source of inspiration and calm when I attended Holyoke Community College. Many a time when he spied me working or studying, he would come over to chat. He would sincerely ask how things were going and have the patience to actually listen. He made HCC a great place to get your feet wet, learn, and advance to a better life. He was a friend and a mentor.

Im so sorry sorry for a huge loss to all of us HOLYOKERS Mr Bartley may you RIP and my condolences to the family

As a member of HCC´s Business Division faculty, I was blessed to work for President Bartley for most of his time there. My first memory of him was during my second week of teaching, I was in my office and he stopped by saying hello and knowing my name. I wanted to share with you that he was instrumental in creating and maintaining a relationship with Poltava University of Economics and Trade in Ukraine. He supported me from my first trip in 1993 to teach principles of marketing to the...

Virginia and Dale Johnston were the beneficiaries of some of Dr. Bartley´s thoughtful career help. My mother benefited from his kind treatment of her as a HCC faculty member and I from Dr. Bartley entrusting me to photograph his retirement party in his office and at the Bartley Center. My mother and I worked out at the Bartley Center for years. I had some memorable conversations with him. My mother is 98 years old and is still kicking in part due to him. Thank you Dr. Bartley.
