Thinking of you Jenni and your family.David was a generous person .The many years he checked the Plant to plate books for us and gave his time to Menzshed from the beginning. David and I loved his happy nature RIP David Gaewyn and David Grant

We were so sorry to hear of David's passing and send our heartfelt condolences to all the Bateman family.

My condolences to the Bateman family. I am sorry to hear this sad news.

Jenni & Family, we were devastated to hear of David's passing. We will miss his hugging embrace & kiss. We always loved when David popped over to visit, he would just let himself in to the house and check in on me and the kids. He was like another grandfather to my two and he always said I was his other Daughter. Amelia and Lachlan remember coming over for lots of swims and chocolate fish. Sorry to hear this news and that I couldn´t make it to the service. I have lots of great memories from the Xmas days spent at Limbrick Street with Buster and Betty. We have David to thank (plus Robin Lange) for uncovering our Ngai Tahu connection through Dudley. Condolences to Jenni and family from the Daily family.

Jenni , so sorry to hear of your sad loss Happy memories of our trivial pursuit nights always remembered with fondness. RIP David Rita and Dave

To Jenni, Aaron, Greig and your families - we are so sad to hear of David´s passing. He was such a great friend to us and our families. We have enjoyed many many happy times with David and you all from the time our kids were in kindy and right through the school years and up to the present time. When you and David came to Tauranga Jenni we enjoyed getting together on many occasions and we will miss him terribly. All our love to you all Cynthia and Tony Tauranga

From David's life in the Hokowhitu Dairy as a child through to his stirling work with Gold Coast Vets and his reviewing of the Renaissance Singers accounts I recall him as outgoing, affable, and a do-gooder. He recently arranged for the refurbishment of my stereo speakers at the Man Shed, always just there and so very helpful. I enjoyed the many games of golf in his congenial company. It was a shock to hear of his passing - he will be surely missed but will have also left an amazing legacy...
