My deepest condolences to the family. I just found out about David's passing from an old friend that saw this memorial and remembered when I took her to an event at the gallery. I met David in the late 90's when I was the office manager of the leasing & property management company of his gallery on Prince. He was always kind and respectful. I admired his prescence. From the moment you'd see him, looking very clean cut and professional, you knew he owned the gallery. He cared a lot about his...

I miss David. To this day I am reminded of his true commitment to painting and to the artists he represented. He was my dealer for 14 years. Something unheard of these days. At times I hear myself asking, "what would David suggest?" as I navigate my way these days.

Dear Darren and David's family members, I knew David at Bennington College where he received his masters degree in a tiny program that was very special to that arts department and I believe also to those who went there. I think he graduated in 1981-2 with a masters degree. He was always friendly and open to all.
