David Franklin Bemis, Jr., age 31 of 275 Faneuil Street in Brighton, MA died Monday May 14th in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on July 12, 1975 in Dover, NH the son of David Franklin Bemis, Sr. and Helen Francis Beaudette. He was raised and educated in Dover, NH and graduated from Dover High School Class of 1993. He went on to further his education at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. Graduating in 1999 with his BA in Computer Science.
He worked for Nortel Networks since 1999 as a computer science software engineer. He had a passion for cycling. He enjoyed camping, skiing and hiking. He also played four years in the Dover High School marching band as an amazing percussionist. During his college career he was a member of and rode with the cycling team. He also enjoyed playing golf with both his dads and his brother. As well as gardening with his Mom and his sisters. David had a dazzling smile and a very uncanny ability to make people laugh and feel loved. He was much loved by all who knew him
He is survived by his father, David Bemis, Sr., his wife (Debi) of Kingsland, GA, his mother, Helen Flanagan, her husband (Neil) of Dover, NH, grandmother, Miriam Bemis of York, ME, brother Mathew Howard Bemis wife (Christine) of Hampstead, NH, sisters Katherine Lynn Bird husband (Greg) and nephews Jonathan and Devin of Smithtown, NY, LeeAnn Marie Flanagan of Brighton, MA, and Sara Emily Bemis of Rochester, NH. Three great aunts; Eva Cliché of Riverside, Eileen Kimball of Berwick ME, and Ann Kimball of Berwick, ME, paternal aunts and uncles are Dennis Bemis and his wife Sally of York Me, Debbie Hollis and her husband Robbie of Somersworth, Bette Rochette of Dover, Judy McKenna of Rochester and her husband Quintan, maternal uncles, are Lamont Beaudette and his wife Florence of Swansea MA. Roland Beaudette and his wife Jenni-Lynn of Somersworth, Steve Beaudette of Dover. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Goodman of Audubon NJ, Mr. & Mrs. William Slaven of Voorhes NJ, Mr. & Mrs. James Flanagan of Sicklerville NJ, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Flanagan of Sewell NJ, Mr. and Mrs. John Rogers of Somerdale NJ, Mr. & Mrs. Brian Slaven, of Moosic PA, and Mark Slaven of Salem NH, many cousins and good friends.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, May 18th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Tasker Funeral Home 621 Central Ave in Dover. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday May 19th at 10:00AM at Saint John’s Methodist Church 28 Cataract Avenue. Reception will follow immediately after the Church Service at Fellowship Hall. You are then invited back to the family home on 75 Old Dover Pt Rd Dover NH to celebrate Dave’s life.
