David Lennox Bennet II was born August 25, 1994 in Rocky Mount, N.C. On Saturday May 9, 2020 he was unexpectedly taken from his family and friends and entered into eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife; Jasmine Bennett, daughter, Aaleyah, son; David III; mother; Courtney Sweat; father; David Bennett Sr. (Toyce), step-father; Kenneth Sweat; two brothers; Ki’Swandre’ and Courtney, two sisters; Kimora, Brittany, grandparents; William & Rebecca Phillips, Charles Mitchell and Ethel Bennett, four uncles; Andre Mitchell, Kenny, Roger, and Shawn(Jennifer) Bennett, aunts; Annastacia, Chareeka, Charlita, Crystal Mitchell, Beverly and Jillian Bennet, Kimberly Smith, father-in-law; six brother-in-laws, two sister-in-laws, three nephews, two nieces, and a host of other family and friends. .
David attended Grassfield High School where he was an active member of ROTC. He played football, basketball and ran track. He graduated Woodside High school in 2013.
David served 4 years in the United Sates Army from 2015-2019. He was deployed to Iraq for 6 months. His military accomplishments include: Army commendation medal, Army Good Conduct medal, National Defense service medal, Global War on Terrorism service medal, Army service ribbon, Inherent Resolve Campaign medal with campaign star. He attended Army tutorial training for ammunition specialist (89 Bravo) at Ft. Lee, Petersburg.
David recently received his CDLs and started his own business, Bennett Transport.
