Not sure what to say?

Uncle David, We will miss you and my Mom tremendously! You both had the same sense of humor! My Mom had the best laugh and I will miss that so much! Both of you were very special and no one will replace you! I love you both very much! Love, Dolly

Dave was a fixture around the tennis community and an undying supporter of tennis in EGR. He never failed to greet me with a big smile and ask about my family, most especially my tennis playing Spartan daughter. He will be missed. Condolences to all of his family, and may the happy memories you hold sustain you now and in the years to come. With deepest sympathies.

Our deepest sympathies to Dave´s family. We were teachers with Dave at EKHS for many years. Dave will always be remembered.

Dear Mary Kay, Jim, Kathy and families. Very sorry to learn of Dave's passing. He was a great man and highly respected. You were all a wonderful part of the Lakeside School family and it was my privilege and pleasure to be a small part of your history at the 'ol school house. I pray that God will bless you and keep you in the days ahead with His comfort and strength. I hope it is appropriate to render Dave's familiar, Go Green! Paul Claesson

We are very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We became good friends with Dave and Mary Kay through First United Methodist Church more than 30 years ago. Dave was a man bursting with enthusiasm for life! He asked about our family every time we talked. We already miss his good humor, expert memory on past students, trademark Spartan green jacket and tie, love of Bayview, and tennis as his lifelong sport. He left his positive presence with everyone. RIP good friend!

A two decade professional colleague, fellow competitor, neighbor but most of all, a friend! RIP David!

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. May we all enjoy some Paddle Pop popsicles or apple pandowdy in memory of Uncle Dave.

I was saddened to read of Dave´s passing. Deepest condolences to the Berles family. I´ve known Dave for nearly 60 years. As a tennis player, I knew Dave and both his father and mother. His father, Don, used to come to the local racquet club and watch our weekly doubles group whack the ball around. One time while I was sitting out a set, Don and I started talking about our families. As life sometimes exhibits strange coincidences, we determined that my grandmother being a Berles had a sister...

How fortunate are those of us who knew Dave! I had so much fun helping him run the tennis program in Bay View - and felt valued beyond my years in helping him learn the names of our members and guests. He was justifiably welcomed and eventually, revered. The whole Bay View Tennis program took a giant leap forward with his arrival. Those who knew Dave will miss Dave. My condolences to you, Mary Kay, Kathy and Jim, and to your spouses and children. We now know that heaven has more green.
