Not sure what to say?

I still think of David every year at Thanksgiving. He was my classmate in the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh and I still remember. Holding all of you in my prayers. Peace.

Last year I arrived at the University of Pittsburgh as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Africana Studies. During my time at Pitt I had the pleasure of meeting many great students, but D Berry was different, and special. I can remember coming to my office on many occasions and finding David sitting outside my door waiitng for me. We would discuss everything from history to hip-hop. He would bring me the new hip hop music and we would argue over what was hot and what was weak. David...

I'm so sorry to hear of David's (DJ's) passing. He was a student of mine at UPitt. I hope that the Berry family can find comfort in such a difficult time.

Tommy & Lisa,

I am sorry for your loss. With deepest sympathy,

Marti

Lori, Lisa and family,
It's been a long long time, I am very saddened that this is the time and way I am making contact with you all. My thoughts are of you all at this time of deep sadness. Wrap yourselves in those warm, fun loving memories of DJ and lean on one another to get through.
I remember the little boy that used to follow Lisa around and want to be outside with us in the summer time in Penn Hills.

DJ was my student at Pitt. I am so sorry for your loss.

May the Lord keep you and watch over you.

DJ,
Thank you for coming into my life. I figured that one day God would want you for an angel, but I guess I never would have imagined so soon. I feel honored to know you. I send my love and compassion to you and your family, just as you gave your heart to everyone you met.

DJ,
you were a friend to me and we had some laughs. When I walk across that stage at graduation, you will walk with me. You will always be in my thoughts and dreams, and yours will become mine. You know what I mean...
Mr and Mrs. Berry, your son was a beacon of light in my life when none existed in mine. He made me think, laugh, and taught me what it meant to be sincere. May G-D bless you and your son. He was a hero to many and a friend to even more. G-D bless him... You...
