Dave and I were colleagues at Naval Facilities Engineering Command. NavFac organized a mentoring program with Garret High School for at-risk students. The mentees were often from low income, single parent homes and had good potential but under performing in their academic pursuits. A request for volunteers was issued. David was one of my favorite coworkers at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. We always had fun on the job, traveling for work assignments or having lunch together.
