FREMONT - David Burton Blount, age 71, of Fremont, Indiana, formerly of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 14, 2025.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1953, in Hillsdale, Michigan, son of the late Jason "Red" and Virginia (Campbell) Blount.
Dave married Cherie Louise Cook on Aug. 2, 2003, in Pleasant Lake, Indiana. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2024.
He retired from Klink Trucking in Ashley in 2019. He also had worked at Vestil Manufacturing and did construction work.
Dave liked to go fishing and hunting, and enjoyed hanging out in his barn.
Survivors include his stepchildren, Hugh (Billie) Buck, of Covert, Michigan, Debbie (Tim) Perkins, of Avilla, Indiana, and Becky Flaugh, of Rome City, Indiana; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his siblings, Margaret (Bill) Whaley, of Wortham, Texas, Ken (Marilyn) Blount, of Albion, Michigan, Florence (Mike) McHenney, of Coldwater, Michigan, Cathy Dirr, of Fremont, Indiana, Dennis Blount, of Bronson, Michigan, Stephanie (Bill) Edwards, of Warren, Michigan, Cathy Page, of Kendallville, Indiana, Billy Page, of LaGrange, Indiana, and Jason (Linda) Blount, of Hillsdale, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Diane Blount, of Fremont, Indiana and Dee Blount, of Hillsdale, Michigan; a brother-in-law, Dennis Parsons, of Coldwater, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Rodney Blount, Jason Blount, Joseph Blount and Brad Page, and sisters, Cindy Myers and Sue Parsons.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.

Pastor Craig Burkholder will officiate the service.
A memorial dinner will follow the services from 1-3 p.m., on Friday at Orland American Legion.
Burial will be at Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, Indiana, at a later time.
Memorial donations in his memory may be directed in care of the family.
