Not sure what to say?

I´m sorry to hear that Chief Bly passed. I was assigned to his shift when he was a lieutenant and I transferred in from Bay Village. He demanded excellence , which made me a better officer. My condolences to Ken and family Det Lt Thomas J Businger Retired 2003

Every time I saw Dave at church, he had Jean by his side. He was always glad to see you, even when he had stopped remembering who you were. A good man. Rest easy in God's arms now, Dave. Condolences to the family, and prayers for peace and comfort in the days to come. Jean, you are on my heart.

Jean, May God give you the strength and comfort during this most difficult time. Love and prayers. Fred and Marsha

Dave and my dad (who passed in 2020) were friends since their childhood. My condolences to the Bly family for their loss.

My condolences to the family. Chief Bly was a leader who had high standards and set these same standards for those who worked in the department. He was a professional. Hoping your memories help all to heal. Laura Breitenbach

Your loss will be felt my many. The Westlake Police Department has been immeasurably improved by your presence and guidance. It's been 32 years, but you will never be forgotten by those who knew you and worked alongside you. You were the most Intelligent and smartest man I ever had the pleasure of being associated with and those who knew you can attest to that. You will be dearly missed.

Thank you for your very brave service to the Westlake PD ! God bless you

At one time he was a board member of the huff and puffers, I remember him well, I,ve been on the league for 14 years now, he was a nice man

Sorry for the family´s loss. It is never easy losing a loved one regardless of their age. David was a great guy and we enjoyed any time that we spent with him. He was such a personable person and so easy to have great conversations with. I´m proud to say having him as part of our family was an honor. Rest in peace with the Lord David your home free
