David William Bonds, 57, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Friday, September 19, 2003 as the result of an automobile accident on Highway 25 South, near Iuka, Mississippi. Mr. Bonds was a member of the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and a Mason. The president of Bonds Paving Materials and vice-president of the Bonds Company, he was the past-president of the Mississippi Road Builders Association and was also a member of the Mississippi State Contractors Licensing Board. Mr. Bonds was the chairman of the Tishomingo County Democratic Committee, a member of the Farm Bureau Board, the Tishomingo County Development Foundation, had served on the Yellow Creek Port Board, and was a supporter of the Boy Scout Foundation. He also regularly attended the Downtown Iuka Men’s Coffee Club. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 – 9:00 PM, Sunday, September 21 at Cutshall Funeral Home - Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, September 22, 2003 at the Iuka Church of Christ, officiated by Billy Pearson, Ben McAnally, and Nick Phillips. Pallbearers will include Brandon McAnally, Phillip Bonds, Dennis Bonds, Jimmy Wayne Gross, Jr., John Ferguson, and Jay Linley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Downtown Iuka Men’s Coffee Club. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Cathy McAnally Bonds of Iuka, MS; 2 daughters, Anna & David Paul Kessler of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and Sandy & Adam Wyers of Iuka, MS; 1 brother, Larry Bonds of Iuka, MS; 2 sisters, Jean Crane of Iuka, MS, and Joan Ferguson of Hernando, MS; and 1 grandchild, Ellie Catherine Wyers. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Russell and Tressie Bonds.
