David R. Brandt Sr., 74, died Saturday October 22nd. He was born and raised in Lancaster, PA and graduated from McCaskey High School. After graduation David enlisted in the Air Force, beating the random draft for Viet Nam as a Munitions Specialist for the F-4’s. He had several deployment tours in Thailand and Viet Nam. He met his wife Pauline at Westover AFB and got married to fulfill his life with her. They were married on May 30, 1970. He was Pauline’s first love and soulmate. David later joined the Barnes National Guard Base in Westfield to complete a 20 year career as a Munitions Specialist on the A-10 aircraft. He was a retired machine operator and communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. He leaves his wife of 52 years Pauline (Hebert) Brandt, three sons David Brandt of Kokomo, IN, Paul Brandt of Monson and Kevin Brandt of Chicopee, a brother Timothy Brandt of PA, two sisters Carol and Debra Brandt, both of PA, six grandchildren Lindsay, Paul Jr., Nicholas, Saydee, Olivia and Caraline and five great granddaughters Emily, Eleanor, Anberlyn, Gracelynn and Charlotte. Friends and family are invited to the funeral mass at St. Patrick’s Church, South Hadley on Friday October 28th at 11 am. Burial is private.
