BRASSEUR, David – Of Flint, age 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.


Cremation has taken place.


Memorial visitation will be held at 10 a.m. and a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Central Church of the Nazarene, G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint, Pastor Rob Prince and Pastor John Gildner co-officiating.

David was born in Flint, Michigan on January 31, 1949, the son of late Francis and Shirley Brasseur.


He graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1967.


He married his high school sweetheart Janice (Jan) Shoops on April 4, 1969.


David retired from General Motors on disability in 1982.


Survived by devoted wife of 53 years, Jan;


3 children, who adored him, Davonna Tucker (Fred) of Perrysburg, OH, Robert Brasseur (Denise) of Burton and
Gary Brasseur of Linden;


7 grandchildren, Vanessa Pearson (Buddy), Ashley Bowman (Ryan), Jeffrey Tucker, Fred Tucker III (Lily), Zachary Brasseur, David Brasseur and Brendan Brasseur;


4 great-grandchildren, Riley, Hunter, Brody and Tucker;


brother, Fran Brasseur (Joan);
sister, Faith McCloskey (Jim);


many nieces, nephews and cousins;


and beloved cats, Ester and Sarah.


Dave was a devoted member of Central Church of the Nazarene. Dave loved his Lord Jesus with all his heart. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Despite spending many years battling a debilitating disease he always had a smile on his face and never complained.


He was preceded in death by parents, Francis and Shirley Brasseur, sister, Sharon White and great-grandson, Bentley Bowman.

My heartfelt condolences to the Brasseur family. Especially to his wife Jan who was a friend and neighbor who I have known for over 60 years. May Dave Rest In Peace.
