David E. Breay

I met David Breay in the early 1990's. He was a kind and caring person who played pool quite well. The fondest memory I had with David was when he told me about his younger years. He said that he shoveled coal to the furnace to heat up the house, maybe a relative's house. David said that he worked as a Soda Jerk when he was a kid and wore a bow tie at his job. He spoke about his brother who was always there when he needed help. David was proud of his nephews and family. The last time...

My dog and I have been able to visit David weekly for the past year, at the Laurels of Galesburg. He would always greet me by name and routinely ask me about my husband, by name, whom he had never met. This was truly a strength of David´s and made him very endearing. I am glad he has touched my life and will miss our visits.
