David Lee “Spider-Man” Burden departed this earthly life on Sunday, November 27, 2016, at the age of 62. Spider was born to Mr. James & Mrs. Christine Burden in Robeson County on September 21, 1954.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James Chester Burden; his wife, Mrs. Beverly Mae McMillan Burden; and one brother, James Burden, Jr.

David was a true servant in every aspect. Wherever there was work to be done, you could find him with a big, beautiful smile and helping heart. He left a positive impact on all whom he came in contact with. He recently retired from Southeastern Regional Medical Center, where he will be remembered for his many years of service and dedication. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ruby Christine Howell Burden of Lumberton; one son, Bruce McMillan and wife Tameisha of Chicago, IL; one daughter, Nora Burden of Ft. Bragg; two brothers: Bobby Burden and wife Sharon of Lumberton and Cornelius McKenzie and wife Dot of Fayetteville; three sisters: Aileen Burden of Lumberton, Darlene Howard of Lumberton, and Susanne Council and husband James of White Oak; three sisters-in-law: Pamela Esters of Lumberton, Pauline Rozier of St. Pauls, and Gwendolyn McMillan of Lumberton; four grandchildren: Malina Rollins, Jaylen McMillan, Brandon McMillan, and Nevaeh McMillan; a very special friend, Ethel Mae Bethea of Lumberton; seven aunts, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives.

A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 1:00-2:00 PM a Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Blanks Cemetery.
