David R. Burke, 72 of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township), passed away at 12:28 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in Scottdale Manor & Rehabilitation Center, East Huntingdon Township. David was born April 26, 1950 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Robert N. and Frances (Thompson) Burke. He married Nancy L. (Armany) Burke on July 20, 2011.


 


David was a devoted husband and a graduate of Montour High School. He was employed for 25 years as a garage attendant with the Pittsburgh Parking Authority and served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, collecting coins, doing crossword puzzles, watching civil war movies, and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penquins.


 


David will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 11 years, Nancy L. (Armany) Burke; his four step-children, Gina Fox and husband Jeff of Finleyville, Frank Wentzel and wife Susan of South Park, Jackie Siegfried and husband Bill, and Shelly Steinert and husband Gregg, all of Overbrook; his six step-Grandchildren, Gregory, Nicholas, Taylor, Jacob, Delaney, and Jayden; and his loyal dog, Bella. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marie Burke; his daughter, Patty Burke; and his brother, James Burke.


 


Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 3-8 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel where Full Military Honors will be bestowed by the Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard at 8 PM Thursday. Private interment will be in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Carnegie.
