WINT & SON FUNERAL HOME INC. Obituary

CAMPBELL, David Lee; of Ortonville died suddenly and unexpectedly, February 24, 2016 at age 57; devoted husband of Nancy Kizer-Campbell for 25 years; loving father of Amy (Jon Dahlin) Campbell, Kimmie Jones, Kelly (Josh Thompson) Miller and Corey (Jessica Murley) Campbell; adoring grandfather of Christian, Austin, Jonathan, Gavin, Peyton, Kayla, Micah, Dayten, Robert & Julie; beloved son-in-law of Clyde & Hazel Kizer; brother of Debbie (Robert) Kern, Diane (Kay Henry) Campbell and Chris Campbell; brother-in-law of Carrie (Michael) Mager; preceded in death by his parents Joel & Betty and brother Daniel. David was a wonderful man who was deeply loved by his family and friends. His infectious good nature, gentle easy-going manner and perpetual willingness to forsake his own interests to assist others in need made him a friend to all. His wife and children were at the absolute center of David’s life and he and Nancy were devoted in their commitment to providing a protective and loving home for their family. David was especially committed to his grandchildren with whom he shared frequent giggling frolics around the house, dancing in the rain, corny jokes, funny faces, many projects and making “ridiculous” desserts. David was an exacting professional and, when he found an absence of dedication to the quality of effort to which he aspired in working for others, he exercised his entrepreneuring rights and lived his independence as owner of David Lee’s Auto Body. He loved the freedom of the outdoors and spent his limited leisure hours in fishing, hunting, boating and in communion with Nature. Memorial Service Saturday, March 5 at 11:00 am at Bridgewood Church, 6765 Rattalee Lake Road, Clarkston. Luncheon immediately following the memorial service at Ortonville United Methodist Church, 93 N. Church Street, Ortonville from 11:30 am until 3:00 pm. Inurnment Ottawa Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.

Not sure what to say?

It feels like yesterday that you were here with me, with our children and grandchildren. .I miss you more than any words could ever explain. I know you are watching out for me and our family ❤ God blessed me with you

I think of you every minute of every day. I finally had a dream about you ❤ you seemed so young and healthy. I hope you visit us often. We all miss and need you so much. Dayten has a flag football game today. I hope you'll be there watching over us and cheering him on. I love you ❤ xoxo

We miss you so so much!! We're moving tomorrow. I know you would be happy to know I didn't buy my house. I can't believe how long it's been since we've seen you. It hurts so bad to know I'll never see you again. I miss you. Xoxo

July 1st already....it's your birthday month ❤ I miss you so much!! And love you even more ❤

It's June 1st. So crazy to think we've already been without you for 3 months! Micah's really been helping to keep your lawn mowed. You did an amazing job on it! It grows like crazy! We love and miss you so so much. I hope you're watching over us everyday and we make you proud.

We went to a car show today, it made me sad. You should be here and should've been there with us. I wish you would've had the chance to get the chevelle on the road. I wish you could've enjoyed one ride before you left..... We miss you so much!!! Xoxo

Missing you so so much!! I wish I could give you one more hug. Say one more goodbye. My heart hurts....xoxo

Happy Easter. It's not going to be the same without you. I miss you're amazing breakfasts! You were amazing at everything you did. We miss you so so much...xoxo

Today's the first day of spring. It's a beautiful sunny day. It's hard going to your house and not seeing you working in the yard or the garage. The boys and I are going to go help drag the branches that fell in the storm to the burn pile one day. Dayten took care of some a couple weeks ago when we were there. He wants to make sure your garage stays clean too. Our hearts are so broken without you. We love you! Xoxo ❤
