DAVID CAPLAN

I was a humble City Year corps member from Harlem and other parts of New York who dropped out university when I met David in 08-09. He would chat with me in his office, lend me books, meet for brunch, and always give encouragement. I learned a great deal from his honest discourse, me a young black man and him an older white Jewish man who had accomplished a great deal in his life. David was president of Concord Fabrics when I began my working career in 1976. Now I;m an executive coach. Just last week I shared with clients that one the wisest person I have ever known is David Caplan. I told a story of how David would write down some of the observations and statements others would share and relay them when appropriate. David made a significant impact on me. May his memory always be a blessing.
