I was one of those neighborhood kids that played music with Dave. Our running joke was Dave's constant urging for us to play America's Sister Golden Girl, and how he would gently protest when we refused. I'm thinking it got to the point where we'd refuse, just to watch his reaction. It's been over 40 years, and I still think of him and smile every time i hear that damn song. So even tho I haven't seen him in many, many years. I guess.. in a way.. that's made him my lifelong friend....
