I had the privilege of meeting them as a young boy. My father always spoke fondly of his friendship with David. May he rest in peace.

He gave support and a listening ear at a critical time in my life (teenaged years) for which I will be forever grateful. He, his parents (Uncle Dave and Auntie Phyllis) will live forever in my consciousness as outstanding human beings, who gave hope to the world just by choosing to be their better selves. We were privileged to know Dr. and Ava Carmichael when they lived in Santa Fe. They were wonderful neighbors and good friends. It was nice to share a bottle of wine with them on occasion. They will remain in our memory.

Adm Carmicheal was one of my heroes in the Naval Reserve amd set the example for The Naval Reserve Medical Company which I later commanded.
