David Todd Carr

David Todd Carr, 74, of Nellysford, died Monday, December 7, 2009 at his residence.

He was born on January 29, 1935, in Evanston, Illinois, a son of the late Dr. Claire E. and Alta B. Davidson Carr.

David attended and was an elder of Rockfish Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Shenandoah Valley Soaring Club. David had a great appreciation for all types of music, singing, had a love for opera and was an avid motorcyclist. He worked for many years for the Federal Government and the City of Charlottesville as a Human Resources Consultant.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Abigail G. Carr; a daughter, Abigail C. Buchold and her husband, Gregory, of Houston, Texas; brothers, Claire E. Carr Jr. and his wife, Maria, of Chicago, Illinois, and Thomas D. Carr and his wife, Martha, of Fairfax; a sister, Melinda Ince and her husband, Celal, of Chicago; stepchildren, Scott Albertson and his wife, Joann, and their children, Heidi, Naomi and Caleb, of Nellysford, Stephen Albertson and his wife, Carole, and their children, Matthew and Tye of Greenfield, Massachusetts, and Mark Albertson and his daughter, Kyla of Seattle, Washington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a young son, Matthew Carr.

Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Rockfish Presbyterian Church by the Reverend David Cameron.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockfish Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 278 Nellysford, VA 22958.

Abby iam so sorry to hear about david. I remember when he came into the the pharmacy where i work and told me that he had got married he was so happy you could just see it writen all over his face.I was also a neighbor of his and yours when you and him got married.I will miss seeing him in the pharmacy and you and him walking on our road.My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

It was such a blessing to know Dave. He was so kind to me and always thought of others and their needs. Abby it was always such a joy to see you both together. I love you and am there for you. May our Lord and Savior comfort you, your family and Dave's family today and in the days to come.

It was always a joy to talk to David at the airport. We shared a close friendship. Missing him is painful but he left me with many fond memories. Knowing David has made the world a better place . . .

My sincere sympathy to Abby and her family as they grieve David's passing.

Abbey, when you came into David's life I saw a smile on his face for the first time in a long tiime. Please keep in mind the joy the two of you had together. My prayers are with you and your family. He will be missed.
