Not sure what to say?

Michael Swanson, law school classmate.

Dear Nancy, Christina & Nick,

I hope this poem will comfort you and take away your sadness that you are feeling now. I have so many fond memories of when you lived next door to us, and I missed you terribly when you moved. Here is the poem -

Miss Me - But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free

Miss me a little,...

It is hard for me to exprees myself in words i hope that this poem relates somehow and brings your family comfort:
“Good Bye”

Good-bye.
Saying it will never be the same.
Promises were broken.
Hearts were stolen.
Memories we shared will be formatted into a source for instantaneous tears.
Pleas and desires will not bring you into my open arms unless both sets are willing.
Faded pictures, shaded dreams.
Souls unborn...

Dear Nancy, Nick and Christine -

Nancy - As a Pike Brother and undergraduate two years behind Dave (Bear Cat), I will always remember his great humor and honesty. I am just sorry that we didn't connect later in life. Our paths did cross once after college. Sally and I lived in Dubuque from 1973 to 1978! Our prayers go out to you and your family.

Dear Nancy, Nick & Christina:

Wow! just got the news from a mutual friend and I can't believe I won't be sharing this earth with that man any more, especially now that we've just repatriated. It has come as a complete shock and devastating disappointment. Nevertheless, my grieving can not compare to what I am sure you must all be feeling. Know that there are many of us who will miss him terribly and who share your sorrow. May it be some comfort.

Pésame mucho....

Dear Nancy and Chris,
I have been thinking so much about Dave for the past couple weeks. I was sent to the San Francisco clinic and didn't find out about Dave until today (I was going to call from the clinic and come visit him).
As I have told you before, Dave was one of my favorite people. I really felt a connection with your family. He made me laugh from the first time I met him. He will be greatly missed.
You are in my prayers. God Bless you.
--Natalie

Nancy, Nick, and Christine's lives are a testimony to David's life. His children have brought joy into his life and were with him til the end. What can I say about Aunt Nancy?...their love for each other kept her at his side day and night. I am sobered at the depth of care, of physical exertion that she gave during the last months. It is a reflection of how much he loved her.

Dear Nancy, Nick and Christina, I mourn the loss of your husband and father with you. Dave was a mentor to me. In 1994, I worked under his supervision as a law intern while he was at Utah Legal Services. He was such a great example of an attorney who truly cared about justice. I came to his 50th birthday party and was glad to have shared in the celebration. A while ago, I called on Dave to speak on students' rights at Glendale Middle School and, without hesitation, he gladly...

The Board and Staff of the Disability Law Center wish to express our sorrow at the loss of our colleague and mentor Dave Challed. Dave served on our Board and was a passionate advocate for children with disabilities. His work furthered the right of every child to an inclusive and meaningful education, and we pledge to continue his legacy.
