Read MoreI was saddened to hear about Dave's death only last week. Dave, a graduate of Washington and Lee, where he learned the art of letterpress printing, was instrumental in getting W&L Library's Washington Hand Press restored. I have great memories of this time together.

It was odd to randomly think to do a web search for Dave's name today and to find the sad news. We'd lost touch in recent years but he we became friends over type and ink as he taught this (then) young guy printing nearly 30 years ago. A fine and gentle soul whose laugh and crooked smile with that pipe in his mouth won't be forgotten. Thanks Dave. You'll be missed.
