Not sure what to say?

I'm sorry to say, I think this person is the same David Ian Cochrane in the NamUs Unclaimed Persons Database - NamUs #UCP142548

I would hope to be wrong, but I saw comments wishing for a memorial service so I thought I would share what I found. Wishing you all healing.

David was a very good friend and confidante. I knew him for 25 years. His sense of humour was legendary. He was one of the most erudite and learned people I ever had the good grace to meet. Everyone liked this man, from children to people in their eighties. Godspeed David. It's been 5 years. I've missed you frequently; and, I might add, I've never again had the expert haircutting you gave me. I can't wait to shoot the bull again, once I arrive at your heavenly presence!

I knew David from shortly after he arrived in Portland. He was working with my barber, George until George retired. David 'inherited' me and we got to know each other and became friends. He still had his Scottish accent. Some years ago I suggested we go out for lunch after my cut and that then became our habit. He told me that was the only time he got out after he lost the ability to drive and had difficulty walking.

Maybe I was taking him for granted because it wasn't 'til after...

I was so sorry to learn that David passed away. I moved to Portland a little over a year ago found his barber shop. He did great work and I would see him every three weeks for a great haircut and an interesting conversation. He will be missed by his many friends and loyal customers.

David was my barber since he arrived in the NW in 95 we would talk a lot about music and movies and concerts he will be greatly missed

The few times I met David, he was a kind and thoughtful person. My niece shared his living space with him for some years. I know he cared about people.

Excellent tonsorialist. Good friend. I'm going to miss him.

He was my barber for many years and was so
good he will be missed. Always interesting to visit with.
From William J Payne

When is David's memorial??? He has hundreds of good friends. I want to know where and when it will be. I am shattered by my good friend dying.
