I first met David after he'd married his second wife, Vreni Bithell Collier. Even though I am the mother of his step-son's wife, he welcomed me to their beautiful home in Earlysville with open arms. He and Vreni were generous hosts with their friendship and hospitality. David loved nothing better than a good game of poker and a glass of his favorite German wine! Although I am saddened by his passing, at least he is now with his beloved first wife, Isolde and their daughter, Ursula, and now...

I am a classmate of David, a quiet, humble, non consuming man. He his wife Vreni and five of the six members of the class of 1952 along with our wives attended our 50th. Class Reunion at Miller School.Both of us served our country, David in the Air Force and I in Naval Air, David stayed in to retire and I left the Navy after eight years. David never discussed any portion of his responsibilities, only of when I read his obituary did I know of his many achievements many of which are still in...

He was the sweetest, most gentle Uncle a girl could ask for. I didn´t get to see him often but I loved him dearly. My mom adores him beyond words. He was her childhood best friend. I miss him but know he is reunited with his loved ones who have gone before and it is a thing of beauty.
