Not sure what to say?

I am sorry to hear of David Colonval's early passage. Is this the same David Colonval who served as an Officer Cadet in the Canadian Armed Forces and who in the summer of 1976 sailed aboard CFAV "Vixen" (YFP-317) as a Sea Training Officer? If so, I was a shipmate. I was the Executive Officer of the "Vixen" that year. May his spirit have fair winds and a safe harbour. Regards.... Ben Whiting, Lt. (Ret.)

Nancy, our sympathy to you and Erik & Adam, we are so sorry for your tremendous loss. The right words seem so inadequate right now but we hope they help in a small way to offer you a little comfort.
We remember Dave as a great neighbour and enjoyed knowing you all.
John & Felicity Mazzucco also Sharon & Renee & their families

My sincere condolences to you, Nancy, your boys, and all your family. My heart goes out to you all.

I am going to miss those phone calls filled with laughter and never ending stories. Dave you were a true fighter and battled to the end. You were and still are an inspiration for Daryl and I in our battle with this thing known as the "C" word.
We cried the night we received the news and thought of our visits that we enjoyed over the past years.
Every time we enjoy a drink in the future we will always "Klink" to remember, and never forget you.
As you look down from the great...

My deepest sympathies for Dave's loving family and friends.
I got to know Dave at work over the last several years. He had already been battling his horrible disease, but I was always amazed by his positive attitude and how our conversations never revolved around how he was doing. He always had a funny story or two about his latest round of treatment or frustration with the BC Health Care policies. I don't remember him ever having a "poor me" attitude......he was always more...
