Not sure what to say?

My sympathy is with your family. I am a relative on your Banks side of the family

Graduation from Air Force Academy

My sympathy is with your family. I am posting this message so that you know that my daughter, 1Lt Jahna Foland, also and Air Force Academy graduate, who died of cancer on April 1, 2009 has asked that 3 trees be palnted on the grounds of the air force academy in memory of David Cooley and herself. She learned of David's untimely death during her last days here on earth and wanted to remember him. Sincerely, Sandra S. Haldeman ( Jahna's mother)

I had the honor of working with Cools over the past few years. I only got to be in on a few F22 launches where he was the pilot, but did dozens of F117 launches when he was flying. A GREAT all around guy. He always seemed more comfortable around the mechanics than anyone else. The last time I saw him was about a month ago when he flew out of Palmdale. He came up to me and asked how they were treating me, and we both remarked how much we missed the F117. On takeoff, he treated us to a vertical...

To Sheyla and the boys, Uncle Bill, Cathy, Billy and Susan,

From your family in England we are all thinking of you. Although we are a long distance from you, our hearts and prayers bring us closer together.

May David rest in peace.

With all our love

Cousins Paul, Julie, Janet and Peter

Cools it was my pleasure to know you man! You always brought a smile to everyone you came in contact with. I always felt more at ease when you were around. To Cools family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. We love and miss him!!

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to David Cooley our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for David. And to David it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the...

I've had the honor and priviledge of working with Cools the past couple years. To Dave's family, take comfort in knowing his spirit will live on through the fond memories of hundreds of folks whose lives he touched every day, and thousands more over his lifetime. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Sheyla and all the family. Cools and I spent 4 years together as Soaring pilots and instructors at the Air Force Academy...'82 Best in Blue. During that time, all of that gang knew Cools as the level-headed, talented, cool-witted lover of life; always keeping a smile on our faces during rough times and reminding us of the great opportunities we'd been given and would yet receive...those were the wonder years! I'm so sorry that we lost touch after...
