Not sure what to say?

Word has just reached us in Santa Barbara of Dave´s passing. Dave was a beloved swim coach for our daughter Katie. In those years, Katie was not a stand out athlete but Dave recognized her as a person with other gifts beyond swimming. Dave´ inspiration led Katie led Katie to train as triathlete with a couple of Iron Man races under her belt. Dave set her on that path so many years ago. Our family has such fond memories of Dave and we share your loss.

David was an amazing man, father and lawyer he will be missed!

Lisa & Jenn, How sad, Dave's death too soon! We are so sorry! Lisa, as you know Dave and I met as adversaries, representing opposite sides on two cases, but became friends. He was a terrific lawyer and wonderful person, (as are you both). Be kind to yourselves and treasure the wonderful memories. Warmest regards, Bill Howe

My husband and I, our two children and numerous animals bought "The Coughlin house" as it was know, where David grew up. He and his family visited his old home in the 1980s; we were glad that he stopped by.

Dear Lisa & Jenny: I was so saddened to hear of Dave's passing. I had the honor and privilege of working with him for five years and learned a tremendous amount about civil law from him. The attorneys in the community thought so very highly of him. He gave so much of himself, including reading with children weekly at the school. It was so nice watching him mentor you, Jenny, and he always had something wonderful to say about you, Lisa. Tremendous fun watching him come up with unique gifts for...

Lisa and Jenny - wanted you to know that word of your loss has travelled far and touched those who knew you many years ago. My heart aches for you. And I celebrate the terrific life Dave had with you by his side. May your memories help sustain you through this difficult time.

One of the kindest men I had the pleasure to meet and ski with. I Remember early mornings in Sun Valley lodge, lovely conversations while he tuned skis for his family. Sorry Lisa and Jenny for your loss

So sorry to hear about his loss. Dave was always a fresh smile when seeing him at the gym. He always wanted to change the riding style on to following some sort of cruise through Italy or Ireland on the big screen. I obliged:) Even though I have not seen him for awhile, he will be missed by so many that he touched. Ride on Dave.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dave's passing. Quick with a smile and hello, Dave was a good friend who taught me the basics of cycling. I will always remember the moment when Dave, 15 years my senior, whizzed by me during the bike leg of one of our local triathlons - humbling to say the least. Mostly I will miss Dave's querulous yet upbeat nature. Dave was a man of action, a doer, and a good role model for me. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
