David COWAN

I met David Cowan through work. I was in charge of accounts payable and David was the company's accountant. We became fast friends, David had a magical way of connecting with people, I loved his warmth and sense of humour. I moved on to other positions yet we stayed in touch, emailing and meeting occasionally for a meal together. David shared his life with me, his philosophy with me, and of course, his jokes. I was very saddened to find out recently about the passing of David. Unfortunately, I had not tried to contact him for a few months so just found out. I guess my mourning starts now. I knew I would be saying this one day and here it is - "absolutely one of the most interesting people I have ever had the pleasure to have known and so kind and funny and helpful and thoughtful". I learned so much from him and laughed so much with him. There just wasn't a topic of conversation he wasn't able...

Dave Cowan was an exceptional individual - he had many fine qualities, but we will especially remember his integrity, kindness and humor. Our family were fortunate to have known him, and he will always be remembered with love and respect.

David Cowan was simply one of the finest people I have ever known. He was generous and kind to me always. Even as a child, I was treated with consideration and respect. David taught me how to play chess (and I believe, let me win sometimes). He delighted to join the Brown family on various picnics, expeditions, and celebrations, and was equally friendly and generous with his advice for every member of the family. I am so sorry to hear od David's passing. I graduated from Memorial High School with him.He and I have worked together on our reunions. I will miss getting all his jokesby email too. My thoughts are with the family.
