Dr David Joseph Coynik

David first published Film: Real to Reel with Saint Mary´s Press. I was his editor. FRR was a terrific textbook that students enjoyed for all the stories it contained about the history and art of filmmaking. It won a national award when later published by McDougal Littel. What a worthy man.

I'm so sorry to discover that Dr. Coynik had passed away. My friend and I were discussing our past doctors and Dr. Coynik was brought to mind. Dr. Coynik was my dermatologist in Chicago, I was so very lost when he closed his office, only to kept his Peru office location, which was too far for many. I'm almost 2 years late learning of David's passing. Before leaving Chicago for Chicago in 2016 David was a friend and my dermatologist for 35 years. Leonard was a friend also. He was a good human being and excelled at everything he attempted. My condolences, late as they are, to family and friends.

David recognized that I was a visual communicator while taking a freshman honors speech class, and lent me a film camera to see what I could/would do. Knew David a long, long time he was such a kind and loving friend we lost touch with each other 20 years ago but always found a way to check up on each other. He was my dermatologist for many years while in Chicago, the loss of his partner was the beginning of the end as he never really recovered. Find peace David you will be missed. Don

Sadly found out today, Dave passed away. Cannot say enough good things about him. Brilliant enough to graduate medical school with honors, Monty Python & movie fan and good friend. Wishing him some long overdue peace. Cheers my friend.

Dave was a friend, neighbor and Randy was a patient for many years. Wonderful eclectic man, with many talents. He will be greatly missed by all that new him.

He was my mother's dermatologist; she thought very highly of him.
