David and I were neighbors and had started to become friends. Being about the same age and in similar health, we often mentioned that we were glad that the other was still alive and kicking.
The last time we spoke he had just pulled up with a bill of groceries. I said, oh my goodness, you are wearing pants and shoes! He laughed and told me to mind my own business.
Later that day we spoke about his fondness for his nephew.
David was a good guy and we will miss him.
