Not sure what to say?

I met David in the mid-seventies when I worked in the Trust Dept. of the Northern Trust. He was one of the gentlest, most intelligent men I've ever known. In 1976, during the bi-centennial, when I worked in Division D - I thought he epitomized the energy of the revolution - everything that was good and honest in being a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant! I remember seeing him on the bus in his tux, heading to the CSO. What a guy! Hope "The Bentley" is in good hands. Goodbye, Mr. Dangler.

I enjoyed meeting Mr. Dangler's extended family at the 10 AM First Presbyterian Church service yesterday. What a small world it truly is! I was amazed to find friendships within my wife's family (Burrows) and the vintage car crowd. God's blessings!

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr Dangler. I remember him always with fondness, for his wit, charm and stature as a gentleman. We were the older members of The Caxton Club and I have many fine memories of evenings together with David and other bibliophiles.
I am sorry that I not able to attend any of his services due to my slow recovery from staph operations.

Dear Friends,
Uncle Dave Dangler was a part of my "growing up" life. A person, who, with great humor managed to survive the Kramer kids, and leave an impression of "friend" and not "ADULT".
Thank you for sharing him with us, and were my father and mother here today...well, I know they are welcoming him now....
Maggie

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Dangler both before and after his retirement and always considered him a good friend. He was fun to be with, warm, gentle and very interesting. I always enjoyed hearing of all of his adventures. I feel it an honor to have known him for all these years and will miss him.

We have such wonderful memories of David and that awful green Bentley. When he was an active memeber of the Vintage Sportscar Club, we spent many wonderful weekends and events with him - especially at his Dodgeville reteat. His quick wit and shy smile will live in our hearts.

When it came time for my parents to select a God-parent for me, Mister Dangler was the first in line, both in my parent's opinion and in his willingness to undertake the task.
I remember him for his wit, when at one point in my early youth, I saw a caged squirrel his garage in Lake Forest; when I asked why he kept the creature, he pointed to his Rolls, while saying, "I always keep a spare handy."
Mister Dangler was a close friend of our family and our condolences go to those who...

I will always remember David's humor and spirit, even when his illness robbed him of strength and agility. It was always a pleasure to see him, and to be in touch with those close to him. I shall miss him, both personally and professionally, he was a gentleman in every sense of the word.
