Not sure what to say?

Hello, Jessica, This is Phil Cousineau, one of your father's friends. We collaborated a number of times at Esalen and elsewhere. You and I met here in San Francisco, I believe. Possibly after the concert/event he led with Coleman Barks, at our Opera House. I admired, even loved, your dad, and frequently think about him. And of course miss him. If you would like to connect, here is my phone: 415 606 8128, and my email: [email protected]. By the way, he adored my son Jack (now 28!), and my wife...

Sing what you play, play what you sing. By David Darling. I miss him so much.

David's sonic "stones" have caused thousands of ripples that continue to spread out across our earth and beyond. Play a few tracks today and feel the wonder that lives on. Missing you, DD.

David taught me to "find my one"--at Omega one summer in 1990 in a workshop. It was unforgettable as was he. The light of the cosmos got brighter when his star ascended. RIP David

Cello Blue puts me in a state of reverent bliss. Thank you, David, for sharing your gifts of beauty with us.

Though it has now been a year since David passed, the wonderful memories remain strong of growing up together, later in life reconnecting and collaborating in music. David was a very talented, kind and caring person who touched so many lives all over the world with his beautiful music, and his teaching and mentoring countless musicians of all levels of development in their music making. His spirit lives on in his recordings, and in the work of those continuing his philosophy of music in the...

I appreciated David’s music, his creativity will be missed and he will be admired for his work.

My condolences to David´s family and the many who loved him. Like so many others, my life was changed by knowing David. He had an amazing gift of making each person he was interacting with feel seen, heard, precious, and "incredible"! After meeting him as a music therapy student at an Immaculata workshop in the mid 80s, he generously stayed in touch for many years after. His music has been the soundtrack of my life and his spirit, humor, and depth will always be near to my heart.

Meeting David Darling turned my life in a different direction.
I first met him in January of 1991, at the Esalen Institute. I went to a workshop he was co-teaching with Chungliang Al Huang. I didn't even know what David exactly would be doing in the workshop. The catalog said something like, "David Darling will be playing Bach on the cello". Almost as an afterthought, I brought my flute, which I hadn't played in many years. When I met David, I told him that I wanted to get back to...
