David was an exceptional person, a dear friend and colleague. Our working relationship and friendship continued for 22 years in the same department at Rutgers University.

I am very sorry to hear of Dr. Daut's passing. He was my trusted advisor as a Senior at Rutgers Engineering in 1984, providing an opportunity to begin seriously acting upon my interests in the then new field of digital audio through a literature search, some programming, and authorship of a white paper. I eventually made my way into the field as lead digital designer at QSC Audio. I might have gone into that field a lot earlier, if I hadn't rushed to take a position in the field of...

Prof. Daut was the person introduced me to signal processing back in the 1980's and helped launch my engineering career. Though we lost touch I consider him a key mentor and guiding light from that time.

My condolences and best wishes to his family and the Rutgers community.

Sorry to hear of the loss of David .We went to high school together and I remember he was a good guy .RIP

Dr. Daut interested me in the field of communications and technology. 30+ years later I have a great career doing just that. He was very influential to me.
