Not sure what to say?

It is memory time again - my gosh, it seems like you were just here. Your friends and family still miss you.

I truly miss our phone conversations on my driving to or from Lansing. Your encouragement and sensible advice, your trying to plan a cure for Joey (who served as your father figure and my Big Brother) and your laugh which could brighten anyone's day. You and Maureen knew me well and still supported me. Thanks for always being there and hope you have welcomed Peggy safely to home.

It is your angel anniversary this week- thinking of you old friend. Blessings to your wife and children.

Once again it is August and the summer sunshine is fading away. I actually remembered you yesterday as I finally deleted old private Facebook messages from and to you. Thought it was time to do so. But I have bot deleted any old memories - they are just as strong as those long ago days when your physical smile brightened the lives of many.

See you later... Rev. Bill McDonald

Looks like this may be the final farewell to you David - but the heart will retain memories and friendship and love well beyond this limited space of internet where your photo and name appear.

WE still all love you .... nothing else will change that. Good bye once again.

To All,
Am so sorry for your loss. I've been s subscriber to The Great Lakes Pilot for a number of years. When My magazine would come in the mail the first thing I'd do is mark the page and save it,the best, for last. I could tell David really loved his family. I appriciated his stories and Native American traditions and folk lore he shared with us all. A bout 3-4 months ago He wrote an artical about Sassifras tea and that it could still be purchased in ground form, not liquid...

What a horrific loss o the earth and all who knew Dave.I first met David when he was eight years old and he and my brother would always come over and rake my yard and be so helpfull, respectful and pleasant.A great kid with his low-key sweetness and an accomplished man.My heart goes out to the family ,prayers and comfort be with you.......Joyce Cole Bates

My mother just told me of David's passing. My prayers are with your family. My mom used to send all his articles from the paper to me out here in PA. Your books were great to read. You will be missed..
