David Dawson

David was always smiling in my memory and he had a warm Soft and welcoming presence I can remember well all the way back into high school days. What a sweet and loving soul.

We came to know David and Martha as part of the UU Congregation of Charlottesville and then as neighbors in the Peacock Hill neighborhood. We have many happy memories of sharing times with the Dawson Family. I would add to the qualities and activities listed in the obituary the commitment David made to our Say Your Peace group at the church, engaging in various forms of peace activism during the years of the nuclear moratorium campaign and our country's various military engagements . Dear Martha and family, We are sorry to hear of David's passing. His picture brought back such fond memories! He was such a great guy and and a good and gentle soul, and will be remembered by all who knew him. We hope to be able to attend the memorial service in December. Pat and Madison

We are saddened to hear of Dave´s death. We had the privilege of living across the street from him in Peacock Hill near Ivy VA. We always enjoyed our conversations with him, his insights, and his laughter and sense of humor. Our heartfelt condolences to dear Martha whom we also love and whom we miss now that we no longer live in that neighborhood.
