Not sure what to say?

David ~ Forever in my heart.

As your birthday approaches it´s difficult to realize that you have been gone from us for over four years. You are forever in my heart and mind.

Mr. De Fields has been on my mind lately. I was a student of his at Arden Jr. High in the early seventies. I was in his US Government and Civics class and TA. He knew how to motivate and inspire his students. His assignments ranged from watching an election night on tv to tuning into Watergate. I am sorry to hear of his passing. His legacy of generosity of spirit, kindness, and inspiration will be remembered.

As Dave´s birthday approaches, I remember him with love, as I do throughout the year. Julie

I was saddened but not surprised finding this page. David was my 6th grade teacher at Barcelona Hills Elementary School in Mission Viejo and then I would see him at Niguel Hills Jr. High in Laguna Niguel when I went there and he transferred over. There was something about his car then that I thought was cool lol. You made an impression on me (obviously) and I hope that the years were good to you. See you on the flip side.

Dave, I´ll always remember our birthday conversations. Although I think of you throughout the year, this day, your birthday, is special. I love you! Julie

We have been friends since the early 60’s at Sacramento State.
His passing hurts, he was one of the good guys.

Dave was a dear friend since 1965. We would call each other on our birthdays every year to catch-up and reminisce. I didn’t hear from him this July. I tried to call him today on his birthday to no avail and found out the sad news of his passing. Dave was a constant in my life. He will be forever loved.

Mr. DeFields was one of my teachers at Arden Middle School — about a half century ago. During the summer, he was also a lifeguard at the La Sierra Park pool. He had a great sense of humor. Everyone looked up to him and thought he was cool. He was definitely one of my best teachers. Thank you, Mr. DeFields.
