My sincere condolences to David's family and friends. When I would walk home from Drake High School as a freshman, about 1955, I would stop awhile in front of David's home in San Anselmo and listen with great enjoyment to his playing. I was a very active young musician so I recognized his excellence, and would often be schlepping clarinet and or saxaphone cases. He was clearly a gift to the music world and therefore to the world.

I had the great fortune to grow up in San Anselmo not far from the Del Tredici household. While hiking about in the area we would pass the Del Tredici's home and if David was there practicing piano, we would sit on the sidewalk curb and listen to him play. Even as young children we knew great music. Thank you, David for instilling in me a love of classical piano that has lasted a lifetime. My condolences to the beautiful Del Tredici family.
