Not sure what to say?

Just now learning of his passing and I am deeply saddened. Mr. Deluca was always so kind and taught me so much about art in high school. I will never forget his stares when I was listening. I smile thinking about how he would kindly point me in the right direction with an even temper. I don´t recall ever seeing him frustrated or upset. Praying for his family.

It is very hard to believe a year has passed. Every time we think of David or look at one of his beautiful sports photos of Eric and his teams it brings a smile to our face. Sending love to both of you

Dear Brenda and Taylor, I was just thinking of how David was so kind to my son Jimmy and guided him through the Art Institute. I hope you are both well and have beautiful memories that brighten every day.

David was my art teacher all of high school (02-06) and he had such an impact on me. I had no idea that art could be my career and most certainly when I began high school I didn’t even know “art school” existed. He always encouraged me to not doubt myself. I owe him a debt of gratitude for the person I am today. My favorite musical is still wicked after listening to endless hours of the soundtrack in his classroom and now as an adult understand the connection between classical music and...

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of David’s passing. We were art students together at Muskingum University and became close friends. We shared a love of art and a special friendship with one of our art professors, William Blakesley. Bill opened his kitchen to David, where he hosted a fabulous Italian dinner, which I will never forget. During those years he met Brenda, and his love for her was so strong that I knew they would marry—they were a perfect team. My deepest sympathy, love,...

David was my friend and mentor teacher. He was my children's art teacher. As a friend he was incredibly kind and considerate. As his student teacher I knew I had hit the jackpot when it came to first rate mentoring, guidance, instruction and advice from this amazing teacher. His support never ended and I am forever grateful for his generous sharing of expertise in all matters related to teaching. I was a student teacher in his class when 9-11 occurred. I remember how he handled the situation...

My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mr.DeLuca. While in his art classes, he truly was a teacher unlike any other. He was more than just a teacher, but a true inspiration and champion for every single one of his students. I was blessed to have been encouraged by him to explore my love of art and participate in the 2013 NYC trip, and 2014 AP art class. He taught his students to be confident in their work, and therefore in themselves. I know there are countless students and...

David holds such a warm place in our hearts. We have so many fabulous photographs he took of Eric and his teammates. His love of theater always inspired Sam. We have lost a wonderful warm caring friend.

Mr. Deluca was my art teacher at WLC in 1990-91. He was a kind hearted and very skilled art teacher. I still use the skills he taught me today. My condolences to his family.
