David Leonard Demeritt, 46, of Newport, passed away suddenly in Newport on December 24, 2005.
He was born in Natick, Massachusetts on May 21, 1959, son of the late Earl and Susan (Manucci) Demeritt. David was a self-employed graphic designer, and previously employed by Conrail and Amtrack as an engineer in Western Massachusetts. He was a member of the Boston-Maine Railroad. He enjoyed model trains, carpentry, and spending time with his children.
On July 21, 1984 David married the former Kimberly Spear, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Alyssa, Cameron, Heather, Victoria, Zachary, and Christopher, all of Newport, and his half brother, John Manucci of Las Vegas, Nevada.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30 at the Newport Baptist Church at 11:00 a..m. with the Pastor George Lawson officiating.
