David Lee Derendinger, age 53, of New Glarus, passed away at his home, after a year-long battle with cancer, on June 1, 2008. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on July 18, 1954, to Calvin W. and Caroline B. (Genske) Derendinger. David graduated from New Glarus High School in 1972. He worked as a custom vehicle builder for many years and was also a public works employee for the Village of New Glarus for eight years. David was an avid sports fan, especially the Packers, Brewers and Nascar. He was also a car collector of 1962 Chrysler 300s. David is survived by his companion, Sue Moen, of New Glarus; father, Calvin Derendinger, of Belleville; three daughters, Katie (Todd) Pederson, of Monticello, Kristie (Brad Johnson) Derendinger, of Shakopee, MN, and Kellie (Kyle Entringer) Derendinger, of McFarland; a son, Kasey Derendinger, of Oshkosh; a brother, Paul (Vicki) Derendinger, of Belleville; and a sister, Joan (John) Judd, of Mt. Horeb. He is also survived by nieces, Laurie (Willie) Judd-Breuch, of Stoughton, and Tara (Brad Miller) Derendinger, of Verona; nephew, Andrew Judd, of Mt. Horeb; great-niece, Megan Breuch and great-nephew, Zane Breuch, both of Stoughton; a special aunt, Audrey (Rolf) Hansen, of Madison; aunts, Laura Oschner, Albany, Bernice (Herb) Elet, of Beloit, and Blanche Anderson, of SD; uncle, Robert (Dorothy) Derendinger, of Brodhead; many cousins; long time friends, Dan Ufken, Belleville; Doug (Wendy) West, of Preston, ID; and Craig (Patti) Watrous, of Fair Oaks, CA.
