David J. Devey

Im not sure why I received an email about leaving a memory of Dr. Devey today, but as a Linden Hall student, Dr. Devey was my first Headmaster. He was the kindest sweetest man. He knew all the girls and treated us all with such respect. He was truly a remarkable man and I will always think of him fondly.

A truly great and wonderful man with an impish smile and a joy to everyone who met him.

Just yesterday I was telling my sons how my headmaster at Moravian Academy Mr Devey would greet us every morning by name and shake our hands upon entering the front door. He knew all our names and had the ability to identify if we had something on our minds, then meet up with us later to talk. Mr Devey spent individual time with my pack of (in trouble) friends, and play poker before school to give us time to talk and share his wisdom. I never saw him after eighth grade, but he made an impact...

dave devey was the finest educator i ever met. a wonderful man. i reflect on the influence he had on me daily. few people actually make the world better. he did.

Dear Miriam,
I am sorry to hear of David's passing. It will seem strange not to run into you & Dave at one of the many soccer fields in the Lehigh Valley area any more.
