Not sure what to say?

The sun has set....goodbye dad until we meet again. I will always love you...

Captain Smith

To all my Donohue Cousins,

Thank you for allowing me the opperunity to share your grief and say goodbye to "Uncle David", words cannot express the sympathy I share with you. He was always the "fun one" chasing us around as little kids shouting "horsey bite!" and pinching our arms. I hope we can stay in touch from this tragic event.
Best wishes and god bless your dad,
your cousin Foster
Rest in Peace Admiral

To all of my Donohue cousins and to my special friend, Dolores, So many happy and special memories of Dad. He always womped all of us in Scrabble. Will fondly remember sitting around the d.r.table in Andover,Ma playing against Dad and all of his big engineering words! Of course,he always won! I love your Mom and Dad so much and words are insufficient to express how sad I feel at Dad's passing. Will join him some day to play yet another game! Peace and consolation to all of you at this time....

The Donohues were such a big part of my upbringing. For all of his power and accomplishments, I remember Adm. Donohue as just a kind, interested, and interesting father and husband. My heart goes out to the family for their loss.

It was a warm, beautiful ceremony, only over too fast. It was difficult to leave.

All my love and prayers go to Denise, Jo, Mrs. Donohue and the rest of your absolutely gorgeous family. Stay strong.

Peggy (Sonner) Tayloe

To Delores, and the Donohue family, it has been an honor to have had such a Brilliant friend and Mentor in my life. It has even been greater being part of such a fantastic family. Our Admiral was not only a great father, husband, Uncle, but a dynamic Naval Officer who inspired all those who had the opportunity to have worked with him. We have had the chance to share all of the many things he has done in our lives, and the things he has shared with us. I will miss him dearly but know I will...

Delores, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. You and Adm. Donohue made me feel so at-home when I use to be "your" photographer while you were living at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

"My deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends, neighbors and colleagues of Rear Admiral David Donohue,USN-Ret, on his passing. He was atrue leader."

I will dearly miss Uncle David and feel so fortunate to have had such a kind, wonderful person in our family. I feel so blessed he and Aunt Dolores attended our wedding. It means the world to me. Warm thoughts, love, and prayers are with family. I love you all.
