DOYEN, David Joseph - Of Flint, age 47, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2PM Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim Reid officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Gerald Rushing. Visitation 10AM Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. David was born in Escanaba, MI on July 12, 1961 and was a resident of Flint most of his life. David was an avid gardener who loved his flowers and horticulture. He also enjoyed entertaining friends and having coffee out on the patio. He was especially fond of his new puppy "Snowflake". Surviving are lifetime partner, Gerald Rushing; brothers, Steven (Mary) Doyen, Timothy Doyen, Robert Ray and Billy Ray; sisters, Heather (Kyle) Sankey, Debra Doyen; stepfather, William Ray; many nieces, nephews and friends. Jerry, I am so sorry for your loss. Not sure if you remember me or not, but I am "Aunt Karens"or "Auntie Beullas" daughter Becky, from Escanaba. David was a great guy, I will never forget him. Just know he is at peace. Take care.
