Not sure what to say?

Great guy! Very kind and will be missed.

Marybeth, I am so sorry to read about David´s passing. I hope these past years have been kind to you and the boys. I think of you often and our Chicago, kid-focused, adventures many, many years ago.

I remember speaking to Dave on the Ham Radio regularly W9GMT (Grenich Mean Time) was his callsign while he traveled to work and home We spoke about Kansas and being Jay Hawkers, among many other topics, to pass the travel time in his car while i was at home on my Ham Radio. He put on heath programs for the Dupage Radio Club of which he was a member from time to time. His Callsign is still registered to him for 8 more years even though he is a Silent Key. 73 to W9GMT de WA9E

A man of keen intellect with a voracious appetite for learning, a counselor whose advice was both creative and wise, a friend with boundless compassion, and the master of elaborate and atrocious puns; that was the Dave I knew. To know him was a blessing; to be numbered among his friends is an honor. Auf Wiedersehen, lieber Freund. My thoughts and prayers go with you always.

I worked with David at DePaul for the past 16 years. My favorite memory will always be that red clown nose he wore in some of his classes I think as a reminder for his students to not take themselves too seriously. His students loved him. His colleagues loved him. He will be sorely missed here.

David influenced the lives of many students at DePaul. He struggled with his health the past few years but found a way to accomodate students. In the management department, he was known for thoughtful and considered comments that helped the department's intellectual growth. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and my prayers and thoughts go out to the Drehmer family.

I am sorry for your loss. Please take comfort in Psalms 29:11, knowing that in difficult times like this, God gives peace and strength. DM

Very interesting guy. Deep. Funny. Personable. Safe travels, Buddy, whatever journey you're on now. They broke the mold just after they put you together, and there will never be another David Drehmer. I think your insatiable intellectual curiosity will take you on some even more wild adventures. Cheers, Pal. Steven Briggd

My condolences go out to the family and friends. Continue to cherish the wonderful memories you had with David. Support one another. May you receive comfort from our Heavenly Father.
